Welcome to Our Updated Site!

Welcome to the Keep the Hawaiian Islands Beautiful (KHIB) website! We have gone through a year of transition in which we moved our headquarters from Maui to Honolulu. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and the Hawaii State Affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, focused on environmental stewardship, community beautification, and litter prevention. We are excited to start organizing many great programs and events to help keep the Hawaiian Islands beautiful. Please take a look around our site, bookmark us, and keep checking back for updates and new material. You can like us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter, Linked In, and Google+ as well!

We are pleased to announce KHIB will be coordinating the 2014 Recycle Bowl in Hawaii, in conjunction with the State Recycling Organization, Recycle Hawaii and our local affiliates!

This is a national program where grade schools up to 12th grade compete in a recycling challenge. The top four recycling schools in Hawaii will win a cash prize, bragging rights, and recycling bins. The top school from each state will be entered into the national competition. All schools are welcome to join, with registration ending on Oct. 15th. The competition runs from October 20th to November 15th. You can find more information here. We encourage all schools to participate, and you can Contact Us for more information and help on running your school competition.
